On behalf of the members and officers of the New York State Library Assistants' Association (NYSLAA), we welcome you to our web site. NYSLAA is an organization whose roots began in 1977 at the first ever "library clerical conference" in New York State. From these humble beginnings, NYSLAA has grown as an independent organization, with close to 375 members. It is run by library assistants, for library assistants.
Whether your title is "library clerk", "support staff", "library technician", or another local title, this is your organization! Regular membership is open to support staff currently working in a library or library system in New York State. Associate membership is open to all others (in any area of the globe) who support the goals and objectives of our organization.
This year (2014) marked our 36th annual conference
! Through the years, we have added many other benefits to our members, including a quarterly newsletter, scholarships, regional workshops, a listserv, awards, and a Certificate of Achievement Program. Take a few minutes and browse through our pages to see what we have to offer library support staff.
